When big feelings are already here, this gentle play gives kids a place to rest for a moment. It’s a calm, cozy way to sit with feelings together—no fixing, just space.
✅ What You’ll Need
- A few SCHLEICH® animal figures (any set)
- A small blanket, scarf, or paper to make a “meadow”
⏱️ 5‑Minute Play Idea

Set the scene: Spread out the blanket or paper and say, “This is the Feelings Meadow. Animals come here when their feelings are really big.”
Play it out: Choose a SCHLEICH® animal and name the feeling it’s having (your child can pick one they already know). Gently place the animal in the meadow and wonder aloud: “How does this feeling feel in the animal’s body right now?”
Pause together: Let the animal rest for a few breaths or moments. When it’s ready, ask, “Is the feeling the same, bigger, or a little different?” End whenever it feels complete.
🎯 Adaptations to suit your child
Optional (ages 3–5): Keep words short—name the feeling and give the animal a cozy spot to sit quietly with you.
Optional (ages 6–8): Add a second animal that sits nearby and shows what being supportive looks like without talking.
🌱 What Your Child Is Learning

- Feelings can be noticed and allowed without rushing them away
- Pausing together can bring a sense of calm and safety
💡 Quick Parent Tip

You don’t need to change the feeling or make it go away. Simply staying curious and present shows your child that all feelings are welcome.
